Hearts Entwined, A Historical Romance Novella Collection

The ways of love can be complex with unexpected twists and turns that lead to a bond that is both strong and secure.

Hi Readers,
I cannot believe that this is my 100TH POST!!!! 😎
And it is  the πŸ’“ Valentines DayπŸ’“ edition .
So my first "Must Read" for February (and Valentines day) is Hearts Entwined, A Historical Romance Novella collection.  This collection of Historical Romance Novella's was written by Karen Witemeyer, Mary Connealy, Regina Jennings and Melissa Jagears.
I would recommend this book to you if you:
  • Of course, like to read any books by Karen Witemeyer, Mary Connealy, Regina Jennings and Melissa Jagears.
  • If you like historical  fiction, especially with a bit of romance and humor.
  • If you like to watch Hallmark Movies ( you know, the ones that always end in a happily ever after)
  • Want to check out these four amazing authors,  (  a novella is a great way to check out a authors work without having to go through a full size novel )
  • Just want to read a great book!
So, here are the stories,

In The Love Knot by Karen Witemeyer ( A Ladies of Harpers Station Novella)  Claire Nevin finds herself in an unusual situation with the arrival of a package from her sister. The “package” was actually Claire’s nephew (Her sister’s baby boy) because her sister was unable to care for the little one. But since that was not enough of a shock, the man who delivered the “package” to her was none other than Pieter Van Duren, The man whom Claire had fallen in love with, but who also broke her heart..  Claire is ready with open arms to accept her nephew, but to forgive Pieter and give him another chance?  No way.

Pieter Van Duren has been in love with Claire since the moment he first saw her. He knew that it was his foolish mistake that made her run away but he is determined to apologize and explain what happened. He has finally achieved his life’s dream but it will never be enough if Claire is not part of it,  But then illness strikes the small town of Harpers Station, Will the knots in Claire and Pieter’s relationship be strong enough to hold them together or will this latest trial finally pull them apart?

In The Tangle Ties That Bind by Mary Connealy ( A Kincaid Brides Novella) Connor Kincaid finally returns home after 5 years  and he is eager to not only see his family but his best friend Maggie.  (that he hopes will become more than his best friend) But his first encounter with her is not what he had expected. While on his way home, he heard someone yell a warning and noticed someone up a tree. Before he could make heads or tails of the warning, he saw a huge buffalo charging toward him. He managed to climb the tree without losing a limb and realized that the person in the tree was Maggie. After a narrow ( but hilarious) escape, They made it safely home but he was so eager to tell her about his plans now that he was home that he did not realize that she did not live there anymore.

Maggie hated telling Connor that she now lived in the city so she could go to medical school. She could tell that he was not taking the news well, But what could he expect when he left her for five years and now he wants to pick up where they both left off?!?
Connor is determined not to lose Maggie again because he is not sure he can live without her, so he decides that he will move to the city too so that he can be near where she is… But can this rancher really last that long in the big city?

In Bound and Determined by Regina Jennings ( A Fort Reno Novella) Private Bradley Willis is sent to escort a retired cavalry officer and his herd across Indian Territory as punishment for his reckless behavior on his last mission.  He thought that his "punishment" was more of getting him away from the fort instead of actually being a punishment... until he saw what he was escorting.  Instead of cattle, Bradley had to help move a herd of camels.  He is horrified to discover that he has to ride the smelly beast but he knows that he must complete this mission. The one bright spot in this mission is the Calvary officer's daughter,  the beautiful yet mischievous Ambrosia, who is also traveling with them and the herd.  Though Ambrosia and her father appear very close, Bradley can see that she is determined to make her father abandon his camels, Now he just needs to make sure that she does not succeed.

Ambrosia Herald is determined to stop her father from making the biggest mistake of his life. She does not understand his fascination with these messy, smelly camels, Especially now that they finally had a gorgeous house in the city and a garden that she was sure would be gone soon because the camels would eat it.  She promised her mom that she will do everything in her ability to prevent her father from bringing his beloved camels home, But this new Calvary Trooper could be trouble...With Bradley trying to complete this mission so he can earn the respect of his superiors and Ambrosia trying to sabotage  the mission any way she can,
Who's will is stronger when they are both bound and determined ?

In Tied and True by Melissa Jagears ( A Teaville Moral Society Novella) Marianne Lister is in love with Calvin Hochstetler, who is a business assistant at Kingsman and Sons and is not in her social class. But Marianne does not care about how wealthy he is because she  has decided that she does not care who society says she should marry.  She decided that when she marries it will be for love and the only man that she loves is Calvin.  The only issue with her plan is that Calvin refuses to go along with it.  He is concerned that she will come to resent him because she will not have the lifestyle that she is used to and that she will not be able to do the things that she likes because they will not be able to afford them. So Marianne is determined to show him that she can live a simple life and while her parents are away, Marianne gets a job a cotton factory. The work is hard and she has to stand on her feet for 12 hours a day, but she is determined to show Calvin that she loves him enough to go to work if she has too.

Calvin Hochstetler is frustrated with Marianne because he knows that he can never marry her, even if he has been in love with her since the moment he first saw her.  He loves her too much to ask her to live like he does, to work for a living, so he is furious when he catches her going to work at a cotton factory!  He tries to dissuade her by showing her that she would never be happy with what their lives would be like, but each time he throws something her way, she shows him that her love is stronger.  Then tragedy strikes and Marianne is almost killed...
Will this finally show him that they are meant for each other or will he push her away for good?

What did I think?
Wow, What can I say? Four amazing stories by four fantastic authors. Need I say anymore???

In The Love Knot, I enjoyed reading about the love that Pieter had for Claire. That he was willing to risk his life to nurse her back to health and that he did not allow his pride to get in the way of him apologizing to Claire for breaking her heart. I thought that it was great that by the end of the story, Claire had finally stopped living in the past and would finally be able to embrace the future.  Overall, I thought it was a very heartwarming story.

I loved the relationship between Maggie and Connor in The Tangled Ties that Bind. The witty banter between the two and the love and patience that Connor showed toward Maggie. It was amazing to me that he would go to a strange place, knowing he would never fit in, just to be close to his girl. The only two things I did not like in the story was that Maggie was very insecure about her medical skills. ( which she did not need to be because she was awesome and proved it.) and that the end of the story seemed a bit rushed. ( can't say anymore, no spoilers!!!) But overall, still a fantastic story.

I loved everything about the story Bound and Determined.  The  chemistry between Ambrosia and Bradley is hilarious. And the camels... instead of horses or cattle? I almost died laughing, especially Bradley's reaction to the animals and Ambrosia's attempts at keeping all cowboys away and trying to prevent her dad from bringing the creatures home.  The entire story was just Amazing...

and finally,  Tied and True... This is the first and only book that I have read by author Melissa Jagears and it was fantastic. The plot was engaging and kept your attention until the very last page.  The characters were charming, I love Marianne's determination and that she never gave up on Calvin even though he kept pushing her away and Calvin's selfless love, That he wanted her to marry better then he was even though seeing her with anyone else would have torn his heart in two. Overall, the story was great and the ending of the story was the perfect way to end this collection of novellas.

Overall I rate this book ( Novella collection)  5 out of 5  Stars ***** and on the Emoji scale ,
This book ( Novella collection)  deserves a 😍
