Naomi's Hope by Jan Drexler

Hey Readers, I have another amazing book I just finished that I need to tell you about.
My newest "Must Read" is Naomi's Hope by Jan Drexler and it was a heartfelt story that you must read if:

• You have read any books by Suzanne Woods Fisher or Jan Drexler  :)
• You like Amish Fiction
• You want to read a heartfelt story of love, loss and faith
• You are just looking for a great story.

So here is the story, 
Naomi’s hope is the story of Cap Stoltzfus who had just arrived to the Indiana Amish community.  He is a bit intrigued about his new neighbors Naomi Schrock and her son Davey. Cap having lost his wife and son several years ago, immediately takes a liking to Davey because his son would have been about his age. When he discovers that Davey’s mom Naomi is single, it just gives him another reason to hang out with his new neighbors.

Naomi tried not to think about Cap, with his golden brown eyes. Not that it really matters though, She knows that she is not pretty and that no one would ever want her especially since she is slightly cross-eyed.  But she has come to the realization that she was meant to be single... At least she has Davey. When a new Preacher arrives and becomes part of their community, She immediately dislikes him but she is not sure why.  She knows that Cap does not trust him because they grew up together and he was a bully when he was younger, but maybe there is more to it. The more Naomi and Cap watch the new Preacher, the more worried they are because it appears that he has a hidden agenda.
Cap is excited that Naomi seems to be warming up to him. It hurts him to see how guarded and over-protective she is with Davey. She finally opens up to him and tells him how she adopted Davey when she found him after the rest of his family were killed in a horrible tragedy.  Everything appears to be going well within the community and between Naomi and Cap when suddenly, The Church is divided. It appears that the people from one side of the county were convinced that they should not have to travel to go to church, when Naomi’s side just had a few miles to walk to get there.
 Then a family comes claiming they are Davey’s living relatives on his mother’s side and that they have been looking everywhere for him.  Naomi is torn between letting her son go with this family that claims to be his relatives or forcing him to stay with her. She does not want to be selfish and has left the choice up to him, but will Davey go with this family? Will Cap be able to comfort Naomi either way?

When everything around them is going wrong, will they be able to hold on their faith, knowing God is always watching out for them?


What did I think?
So this is book 3 of the Journey to Pleasant Prairie series but it definitely could be read as a stand-alone. This book is the classic case of Do not judge a book by its cover, the cover does not look very exciting but even though the plot is simple it is intriguing as well and made the book hard to put down. The author does a great job writing the story from both Cap and Naomi’s point of view. The book is filled with everything; romance, faith, love and a tiny bit of suspense. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and overall would rate the book, 5 out of 5 stars*****
